Searching for Whos in a Field of Clovers

"That bird let that clover drop somewhere inside / Of a great patch of clovers, a hundred miles wide! / I'll find it. I'll find it! I'll find it or bust! / I shall find my friends on their small speck of dust. / Yes clover by clover by clover with care / I'll listen and I'll call, are you there? Are you there? / Are you there? Are you there?"

This is similar to what I picture as the field of clovers where Horton embarks on his futile quest to find the clover with the Whos living on it.

Elephants!

While Horton is a character with many human-like attributes (as are all of the animal characters in Seussical), it is important to develop in my body the physicality of an elephant. Therefore, the next few posts will involve photos of elephants in the wild to get me thinking about the way in which elephants move through space. And so...here are the elephants!

1,001 Ways to Look at a Clover

My goal: Find more ways to hold the "Whoville clover" onstage without turning it into the "Holy Sacrament" or blocking my face. I wish to get to the point where the audience will allow themselves to be convinced that there is a small community atop this clover.
