Horton the Elephant: a character created by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel), an American writer and cartoonist known for his children's stories. Horton appears in Horton Hatches the Egg (1940), Horton Hears a Who! (1954), and - more recently - Horton and the Kwuggerbug (2014).
